ASU administrators hold workshops teaching how to decolonize curriculum and class content. At my college, we are encouraged to decolonize our syllabus. “Decolonizing” is a political philosophy with roots in Marxist philosophy. If ASU administrators are privileging one political philosophy over others, this is an act of discrimination contrary to state and federal law. Therefore, it seems to follow either that:
ASU should not push decolonizing philosophy as a privileged political philosophy
or
ASU should allow other political and religious philosophies to shape the curriculum.
Since ASU already allows decolonizing, it seems to follow that we are also allowed to Christianize our curriculum. Any thoughts? Will ASU administrators have integrity?
Parents and students, you should know that as it now stands, decolonizing and antiracism are given special privileged status.
