They Worship Aphrodite

But reject God the Lord

The modern worshipers of Aphrodite tell us that “god is love,” meaning “god is eros,” or “god is comfort.” They teach us to believe as long as a person is happy and comfortable, then whatever they do is right and good. To love your neighbor merely means to make sure they are comfortable in life. They tell each other, “As long as you are happy it is good.” Whatever way a person chooses to indulge in sex is good for them and should be encouraged. Limitations on sex, such as the idea that it is for a man and woman in marriage, only create mental illness. Such limitations are mere human constructs. Instead, sex connects humans to the divine and even makes them participants of the divine nature. Sex is the life force and mystically unites the person with universal energy. This is why it is entirely wrong to criticize or judge a person’s sexual preferences.

Oddly, you can see the Old Edenic Nature peeking through here. There is some remembrance or intuition that God created sex for the union of one man and one woman and as a sign of God’s love for his people. All of history ends with the Wedding Supper of the Lamb and His Bride. These Aphrodite worshipers vaguely remember the importance of sex and that it was created with a divine purpose. But they fail to grasp that purpose, they do not retain the knowledge of God, and they cannot even define “man” and “woman.”

Front and center you see the effects of the fall on their beliefs. The fall replaces God with some aspect of the creation. It makes an idol out of God’s work. In this case, sex is said to be divine, to be a path to the divine, or the way of the good life. Such sexuality is turned into a gross idol. Their darkened mind perverts it into something almost unrecognizable. You can see this in pop culture as sexuality is proudly displayed even in front of children at younger and younger ages.

In this condition, they recognize that their sexual desires are incompatible with God the Lord. This drives them to hate God the Lord and replace him with a god/goddess of their own making. For all intents and purposes, their idol is just Aphrodite of old. The worship of Asherah. Don’t be naive because they say, “god is love.” What do they mean by “god?”

This view of god and sex is taught freely in public schools. If a parent objects, they are called names and labeled as having a phobia. Parents, students, and donors, it is time to oppose this idol.
