Emails revealed in this article show they believed it was a joke and not something serious or to be troubled about.

Ms. Atkinson shared tweets from Barrett Faculty claiming to be worried about harassment because their names were on the TPUSA professor watch list. But then Ms. Atkinson also shared emails from the Barrett Faculty asking to be on the list and making fun of those who are worried about it.
