If a student pays for education and received some knowledge, then it would be difficult to issue a refund. These things with student loans are not simple. Even if you file chapter 7 bankruptcy and say I didn't learn anything, the government is going to push back and say we taught you some knowledge.

It's is an interesting suggestion to ask for a refund. The federal student loans are complex. The issue would be, did the student receive some knowledge? I get some things are not clear. It's hard to justify a refund for education of the student received some knowledge, even if there are some problematic teachings.
