Today, the Goldwater Institute announced that they will be representing me in a case against ABOR (Arizona Board of Regents) concerning ASU’s required DEI employing training. In the link below, you will read about some of the content of this training and the Arizona laws it breaks by dividing people based on race and then treating them differently due to their race. That is the very definition of racism. How is it that liberal academics don’t see it? Why doesn’t an education guarantee that you will have integrity and be consistent? When we think about making a case for a university education, this is certainly a mark against it.
In my own experience, I have found that this kind of DEI training is used to discriminate against Christians. Christians are the center of the “intersectionality” circle. All other types of oppression are traced to Christians in this view. And therefore, they can be treated poorly. After all, so this thinking goes, it is their turn, and they deserve it.
However, discrimination based on religion violates both state and federal law. And ASU pulls from a population that has a significant Christian demographic. What is going on? The answer is that although the student body might contain a large number of Christians, the professors are disproportionally opposed to Christianity.
So what starts out with diversity training to make sure people know how to work in a pluralistic setting turns into race blame for any and all problems in society. When asked how it can be acceptable to teach racism, such professors and their thought leaders like Ibram X. Kendi say it is “the right kind of discrimination.” Basically, “it is your turn.”
But racism is always wrong. And it should not be an instrument of revenge. Such an ideology has no place at the state university and should not be taught in required employee training.

So glad Goldwater is taking this on with you. Bless you for having the courage to stand against this evil!
Congratulations on the Goldwater Institute taking your case. I think your analysis of the situation with DEI is sadly accurate. Godspeed in this.
