I’ve written posts about this before. At universities like ASU, graduate week is divided into identity groups. Well, all identity groups except one. But not any more.
Now ASU says that there will be a commencement and graduation that focuses on the content of our character and not on the color of our skin. Not only that, there won’t be ASU sponsored identity events anymore like there have been for years.
“ASU has graduate and undergraduate commencement ceremonies where degrees are conferred. There also are academic convocations in the individual colleges. There are, and will continue to be, celebrations held by and for various student groups. All events are open to all graduating students.”
This was always wrong. And they knew it was wrong. How? Simply put in the one group who wasn’t allowed to have their own events and see how it sounds. You know what group that is. “Welcome to the [insert oppressor group] graduation where only people with [oppressor group] skin color can participate.” It’s wrong. And now it’s over.
Yet it also reveals one more thing. I have heard colleagues—and, sadly, students—say, “The [insert oppressor group] had their time; now they need to be taken down a notch and let others get the special attention.” This is how the people think who want to teach your children and virtue signal about how good they are.
In other words, they always harbored this hate and envy in their hearts. They knew it was wrong to express it outright, so instead, they cloaked it in “diversity” language to cover their evil thoughts.
Humans are sinners. They hate their neighbor. DEI was simply official justification to institutionalize this hate.

Thanks for sharing this great news. It's been going on for too many years. Not just in Arizona, but everywhere.
Glad to hear it Dr. A. Congrats on hanging in there, somehow, to see ASU rightly rid itself of its self-inflicted racist despotism.
