The Arizona Board of Regents is paying law firm Pirkins Coie to defend ASU’s required DEI employee training in court. If you look back on my Substack, you will see screenshots from this training. It is about the problems of whiteness and heteronormativity and makes the claim that the United States is a racist nation. Employees are required to know these things to work at ASU.
How much does that cost? Perkins Coie is one of the best-known law firms in the country. You can read about the connection between Perkins Coie, the Steele Dossier, and the Hillary Clinton campaign here. You can read about what the White House says about Perkins Coie, including “The dishonest and dangerous activity of the law firm Perkins Coie LLP (“Perkins Coie”) has affected this country for decades. Notably, in 2016 while representing failed Presidential candidate Hillary Clinton, Perkins Coie hired Fusion GPS, which then manufactured a false “dossier” designed to steal an election,” here.
So, once again, how much is this costing the Arizona Board of Regents? At a time when other universities are claiming to dismantle their DEI programs, and when ASU itself has said that it does not use DEI in hiring, the Arizona Board of Regents is paying to defend required DEI training.
ASU’s spokesman initially said that the training was not DEI, but you can see the screenshots I shared where it reads “diversity, equity, and inclusion.” Does the Board of Regents know this?
At the end of the day, ASU won’t be permitted to have required DEI employee training. How much money will be spent defending this lost cause? I will definitely find out and post about it, so you know how your Arizona tax money is spent.
If you don’t like this, contact the Board of Regents here to let them know (link). I also recommend you contact Arizona Senator Warren Petersen here. Always be respectful but also clear about your thoughts. And subscribe and share so that this story gets to as many parents, students, legislators, news outlets, and citizens of Arizona as possible.
You are my hero, Dr. A!
