Yesterday I posted reminding you that both State and Federal law prohibits discrimination. That includes discrimination based on religious beliefs. Well, here in Arizona, a school board member of the Washington Elementary School District says Christian teachers are no longer going to be hired. The District ended a relationship with Arizona Christian University for student teachers.
She describes herself as “a bilingual, disabled, neurodivergent Queer Black Latina,” and she is protecting the children from the dangerous ideas pushed by Arizona Christian University. These include “Biblically-informed values that are foundational to Western Civilization, including the centrality of family, traditional sexual morality, and lifelong marriage between one man and one woman.”
She says that such Christian teachers would not “hold space for people of other faiths. There must be space for people who think differently.” And therefore, because the Christians do not think the same as the LGBT school board members, they are canceled.
She doesn’t even see the contradiction.
It's not that christians don't think like LGBT board members. It's that Christians do not think at all, otherwise they wouldn't be Christians, they would just be people.
Biblically-informed values of slavery, domestic violence, cruelty to animals and genocide are not welcomed on a campus such as ASU.
