But aren’t we allowed to teach about race?
I’m going to take this as a sincere question until the person proves me wrong with nasty comments.
Yes of course. That’s not the issue. The issue is how to interpret it. Do you teach only Ibram X. Kendi or also Thomas Sowell and Shelby Steele? The ASU professors who interact with me seem to think there are only two views, theirs (which is Kendi’s) and Hitler (and I’m not kidding, since they use that reference about Trump thus insulting all who suffered and died under Hitler). If they are such great scholars, why don’t they know the other views?
Next, we all agree racism is wrong and to be stopped. But these same professors teach that some racism is ok and even needed. Look back on my substack and you’ll see quotes from Kendi who spoke at ASU. He calls for more racism, just the right kind. His kind.
Third, why is there racism? The solution of the “anti-racists” is philosophically superficial, theologically vacuous, and self-contradictory. Isn’t it amazing that Kendi has already crashed? All those millions and millions of dollars and he’s accomplished nothing and now is shut down.
ASU professors got away with teaching his brand of racism because it is called “anti-racism.” That’s how simple minded the discussion has been. Racism of any kind should be eliminated from ASU, period.
Finally, racism is a manifestation of a much deeper problem in the human condition. To isolate it and treat it by itself doesn’t help and usually makes it worse (see the Obama administration when the nation reported being more divided). The humanities professors who come at me seem to think “deeper problem” means economic. That’s how you know they’re Marxists even when they don’t know themselves enough to see it. No, keep going, it is much deeper than economics
You can approach this problem at a secular university. People fail to know what it is to be a human. They think they are a human for some outward characteristic and then judge others as not being human for not having that outward characteristic. It is a failure to use reason to understand reality.
These humanities professor teach their students to do the same thing. Their students are not taught how to use reason to understand reality. They don’t know what it is to be a human and they don’t know the highest good for a human. These professors have alot for which to be ashamed.
The deeper problem is sin. The Apostle Paul tells us these persons are slaves to sin. They have no power to free themselves. They sit in spiritual death, like the demons in Milton’s Paradise Lost, debating free will and other philosophical topics, with no escape. They are lost and need a redeemer.
Ibram X.Kendi was a false Messiah. One of many. There will be more. He promised an easy feel good solution, took your money, and ran. But there is a Messiah. And he is the only one who can actually save you from the power of your sins. You need to know Jesus Christ and believe on him as your savior. Only then will you know salvation from the sin that controls you each day. You need not continue under its power.
I know you’ve tried everything. Now you’ve given up even trying and just work to get sin normalized and even called good. But your conscience is still there after your head clears from the wine and cheese parties. Don’t wait. Turn to him now while you still can. He will reconcile you to God and give you the power to overcome sin in your life.
