Close your eyes

I received an email today from my college asking for a volunteer to read the Native American Land Acknowledge. The email says that the acknowledgment needs to be read at the beginning of our faculty meeting to make it more meaningful. Last time they asked us to close our eyes as it was read. Maybe we should have a public discussion about it. That would make it more meaningful than forcing it on us at every faculty meeting.
