Over the past few weeks, I’ve been screen-recording ASU’s web pages as they quietly revise or obscure their DEI content. The latest phrase they’ve settled on? "Inclusive excellence."
In a previous post, I broke down the three possible meanings of "inclusion" and showed how ASU tends to adopt the definition that ironically means exclusion—specifically, excluding those they label as oppressors. Now, ASU’s law school has provided yet another example of this in action.
Remember, ASU is currently under two active federal investigations for:
1️⃣ Antisemitism
2️⃣ Discrimination against white people in their programs
Yet, they continue doubling down. Just look at their ASU Advance program, which states:
“This year-long program brings together a cohort of 20 first-year students whose backgrounds offer different perspectives along socioeconomic, geographic, disability, racial, ethnic, cultural, religious, gender, sexual orientation and military experiences.”
Translation? Only those deemed to have the “different” perspectives qualify. And guess who isn’t considered to bring a different perspective? Need a hint?
As long as ASU continues to use race, sex, and religion as criteria for discrimination, it cannot be taken seriously when it claims to value inclusive excellence. That is just a patently obvious way of continuing to discriminate against those who they decide have already been included enough. And ASU will remain under Federal investigation and in State court if it doesn’t change its ways. Here is a screen recording of their ASU Advance Program:
Keep holding their feet to the fire and maybe they’ll eventually have some consequences for their horrible actions
Keep after them, Dr. A!
