An ASU employee training class on intersectionality states that employees must name their privilege. By doing this, the employee will learn where they fit into the intersectionality spectrum. Privilege is the unearned benefits an employee gets as a result of social identity or cultural affiliation. Once you know your privilege you can then begin to explain why you have succeeded and others have not. It is not due to your work or commitment but to unearned benefits.
