ASU Sends Letter Requiring DEI
When I first raised a question about ASU’s required employee training, the official response was that it did not exist. Then they admitted that yes, it exists but claimed it was not required. This email from ASU shows that it does exist, that it is required every two years, and that it is part of the university’s effort to “accelerate” change in order to contribute to a “national agenda” for “social justice.”
This is a serious problem for ASU. Only a few years ago, as explicitly stated in this email, the university’s goal was to accelerate DEI and its particular version of social justice. Why was I the only professor who spoke out? The answer is the chilling effect and intimidation that come with speaking against an entrenched ideological hegemony.
The same college administrators who sent this email are still in their positions. My colleagues who mocked me for being troubled by the content of the training have, in some cases, been promoted and now wield more power and receive more money. Will there be accountability for those who forced race-blame into ASU’s DEI training? Will the taxpayers of Arizona be paid back?
This letter speaks for itself:

Wow, it does plainly say “required training”. 🙄Perhaps they didn’t expect you to read the entire memo, just jump right in. Thanks for sharing this! They really should have a dislike button on here…
