I have posted here about events at ASU that call for the end of Israel. ASU has not released any statements distancing itself from that message. It did release this very general and generic statement on Oct 10. There is nothing there to reassure ASU’s Jewish students or to tell the larger community that ASU supports Israel’s right to exist and defend itself. If you do a Google search, you will see that U of A’s president did release a very strong statement condemning student groups that are pro-Hamas, and subsequently, the anti-Israel student group canceled its planned protest. Not so at ASU which permitted such a rally. 100 Harvard professors also wrote a letter denouncing the student groups at Harvard that call for an end to Israel. But neither the ASU administration nor its professors have been able to put together a letter of support for its Jewish students or condemn the ASU student groups rallying for Hamas. When will ASU do this? How long will ASU wait? Why is this hard?
The Atlantic, a left-leaning source, had an article this week about how the secular university has failed a very easy test. Even they see it. The secular professor loves to lecture the rest of us on how moral they are, how they see injustice everywhere, and how they know the solution. But they couldn’t even condemn study rallies in support of Hamas. You don’t have to listen to hypocrites. You don’t have to let hypocrites teach your children. You don’t have to donate money to hypocrites.
Can’t tell their left hand from their right, apparently.
