ASU Humanities and Queer X
The ASU Humanities Institute has two upcoming events labeled as “diversity and inclusion.” One focuses on the evils of cultural appropriation, and the other is called the Queer X Initiative. It’s also worth noting how often these kinds of events are organized by professors from the School for Social Transformation.
These events are nestled among other offerings from the Humanities Institute teaching students about truth, beauty, and goodness. Hah, I got you, didn’t I? Of course, truth, beauty, and goodness aren’t on the agenda—unless they can find a way to frame each within the context of structural racism. Or perhaps they can “problematize” and “deconstruct” the “hegemony” of “whiteness” through “radical inclusion.” Then, perhaps, we might see those topics discussed.
My posts serve as a record of just how common such events are at ASU. In the future, if an ASU professor or administrator tries to gaslight one of us by claiming ASU provides equal representation of different views, you’ll only need to pull up my Substack.
