Stop laughing.
ASU can have free speech events just like everyone else. This one happens to feature two far-left speakers and so has zero balance or intellectual diversity, but still, come on.
Who wouldn’t want to hear from a former president of intellectually homogenous Harvard or a former president of the group that refuses to protect conservative religious free speech rights? Hopefully all the professors who attend will get merit points toward their next virtue badge.
Now, I happen to be something of an expert on free speech myself.
I’ve been invited to be a featured speaker at Utah Valley University’s First Amendment Conference. I’ll be presenting on the First Amendment and the ways free speech is threatened for conservatives at ASU. For instance, I’ll share about my colleague who purposely lied about me to ASU’s HR in order to “teach me a lesson.” I’ll talk about the chilling effect in my School’s faculty meetings which are liberal political rallies. And I’ll explain how our required DEI training discriminates against white people and the heteronormatives
Now that’s a free speech talk!
